Khalil Prescod

Khalil Prescod has amassed diverse experience in research, program coordination, and community support work, having served as a Research Assistant at The Hospital for Sick Children and as a Program Coordinator at the San Romanowav Revitalization Association. His dedicated support work extends to notable organizations such as the Centre of Addiction and Mental Health, Homes First Society, and Watts of T. Khalil holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Psychology from McMaster University, where he minored in Mental Health, Addiction and Society, and Economics. This comprehensive background showcases his commitment to aiding and uplifting individuals in various capacities.

Alimatou Juwara

Alimatou Juwara is a highly accomplished professional with a strong educational background, holding a Master’s degree in Public Administration from New York University, a Master’s in Public Health from National Yang-Ming University in Taiwan, and a Bachelor’s degree in Public and Environmental Health from the University of The Gambia. With a diverse range of experience, Alimatou has excelled in roles such as Customer Service Agent, Community Connector, and Graduate Junior Researcher, demonstrating her versatility and dedication to her work. She is also a published researcher and has received prestigious awards, including the African Women Public Service Fellowship at NYU Wagner, showcasing her commitment to public service and academia.

Barbarella Bishop-Croft

Barbarella Bishop-Croft is a seasoned professional with over a decade of experience in roles such as Customer Service Representative at Fiserv CCO, where she mentored and provided exceptional customer support while handling diverse administrative tasks. Her expertise also extends to tour management, having served as a Tour Manager at Moon Dog Inc. for thirteen years, where she demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills, ensuring efficient and profitable outcomes. With a background in office administration and a proven track record of mentoring and training team members, Barbarella excels in a variety of professional capacities.

Shane Joseph

Shane is a social worker and psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience. He specializes in providing therapy for the Black, African and Caribbean communities. Shane has worked with UN agencies, the World Bank and Canada International Development Agency (CIDA) across various regions including the Caribbean, North America, South America, Central America, Asia, Europe, and Africa. Additionally, he lectures at colleges and universities and holds leadership roles in organizations working to end violence against men and boys. He is currently specializing in Leadership & Education.

Takiyah Wetherburn

For almost a decade, Takiyah’s been a champion for vulnerable children and families, especially Black youth in the child welfare system. She noticed a lack of resources that celebrated Black culture and identity. In 2015, she founded the incredible Natural Kids Movement. This non-profit creates personalized care packages filled with items that reflect Black culture. These thoughtful packages empower young people by boosting their self-confidence and self-love.

Adrianna Waite

A natural-born leader with a passion for learning, serving, and helping others, Adrianna Waite joins the BFL Board as a Youth Member. She brings with her strong communication skills and an ability to work efficiently in groups, along with her experience in organizing tasks and serving others. Adrianna is currently pursuing a B.Sc. in Biological Science at the University of Guelph. She also holds an Associate Degree from Meadowbrook High. Adrianna’s previous work experience as a Camp Director at Meadowvale East Apostolic Church involved overseeing and planning activities for children aged 5-13. Additionally, her role as a Monitor/Screener at Schlegel Villages had her facilitating visitations and engaging in activities with residents. In addition to her academic and professional pursuits, Adrianna has been actively involved in various leadership roles within her community. She served as a Youth Leader at PCMC Youth Group, where she planned and led weekly meetings. Adrianna was also the Founder of the Dance Ministry at International Pentecostal City Mission, where she choreographed dances and managed funds for fundraising events. Her dedication to service and leadership makes her a valuable addition to the BFL Board.

Josué Sulubika

Driven by a passion for social justice and community empowerment, Josué Sulubika, an alum of York University’s Liberal Arts and Professional Studies program, is contributing his skills and experiences to further our cause since taking a seat on the board. With his expertise in managing store operations and a strong background in customer service, he is fostering strong relationships and supporting diverse communities. His Business and Society degree has given him a unique perspective on the intersection of business and social impact. He is passionate about using business as a force for good. He eagerly applies his knowledge to The Blackstone Foundation Library, committed to creating a more just and equitable society.
